Aoraki / Mount Cook Village

Aoraki / Mount Cook Village is secluded and dramatically situated in the middle of Aoraki/Mount Cook National Park, surrounded by some of New Zealand's most iconic alpine landscapes. The village sits at the base of Aoraki / Mount Cook, the country's highest mountain, which dominates the horizon along with glaciers, snow-capped peaks, and deep valleys. The area is particularly known for the Hooker Valley Track – one of New Zealand's most popular hiking trails – where suspension bridges lead through alpine meadows to views of Hooker Glacier and Mount Cook's massive southern face. Tasman Glacier, the country's largest glacier, offers opportunities for guided glacier walks and close encounters with ice formations and moraine lakes.
