About Brezovica - Šar Mountains, Kosovo

Brezovica is located high in the Šar Mountains in southern Kosovo and is the country's most prominent alpine destination, renowned for its raw nature and reliable snow conditions. The ski area ranges from around 1,700 to over 2,500 meters in altitude, offering long winter seasons with deep natural snow and stable conditions, especially appealing to experienced skiers and freeriders. In addition to groomed slopes, Brezovica features challenging off-piste and backcountry skiing in a dramatic mountain landscape, where the views are dominated by jagged peaks and deep, forested valleys. The small alpine lodges and restaurants serve traditional local dishes, creating an authentic mountain atmosphere free of mass tourism. When the snow melts, the area transforms into an active summer destination with hiking trails, mountain biking routes, and access to the Šar Mountains' rich biodiversity, which is among the most varied in the Balkans. Brezovica is not polished or commercial – it is a destination for travelers seeking genuine alpine experiences, stunning nature, and the feeling of discovering one of Europe's last overlooked mountain regions.
