Byblos – Phoenician Metropolis

Byblos, also known as Jbeil, is one of the world's oldest continuously inhabited cities and a remarkable testament to the earliest Mediterranean civilizations. The city was a major power and trade center for the Phoenicians, who exported papyrus from here and gave the very word "book."
