Cape Tribulation

Cape Tribulation is located in northern Queensland and is one of the few places in the world where the Daintree Rainforest – recognized as one of the world's oldest continuously existing rainforests – meets the clear, shallow waters of the Great Barrier Reef. Here, the tropical jungle grows right down to the sand, and short yet intense jungle walks lead you through dense ferns, mangrove trees, and giant fig trees. Along the way, you can experience rich wildlife with rare bird species, colorful butterflies, and unique plant life that has survived since the age of the dinosaurs. The coastline is wild and largely untouched, with beaches where you can snorkel directly from the shore and encounter tropical fish and corals without the need for a boat. On the Daintree River, guided river cruises offer the chance to see saltwater crocodiles in their natural habitat and gain insight into the area's complex ecosystem and the Kuku Yalanji people's deep connection to the land.
