Carretera Austral

Carretera Austral, also known as Ruta 7, is Chile's legendary southern highway and one of South America's most spectacular travel routes. The road stretches through Patagonia in the Aysén region, connecting remote areas via a mix of asphalt, gravel roads, and ferry crossings. The journey takes you through dense temperate rainforests, along turquoise rivers and mirror-like lakes, past deep fjords and dramatic coastlines. Along the way, you'll pass natural icons such as Pumalín National Park and Queulat National Park with the famous hanging glacier, Ventisquero Colgante, plunging straight down from the Andes.
