Chamonix

Chamonix is an iconic mountain town in the French Alps, internationally renowned as the birthplace of modern mountaineering. Situated directly at the foot of Mont Blanc, Europe’s highest mountain, the destination offers a dramatic natural setting with glaciers, jagged peaks, and deep valleys. One of Chamonix’s biggest attractions is the cable car to Aiguille du Midi, which in just minutes takes visitors up to an altitude of 3,842 meters, offering one of the most spectacular panoramic views in the Alps. From here begins Vallée Blanche, a legendary 20 km glacier descent considered among the world's most iconic off-piste experiences. The historic Montenvers train climbs steep mountain sides to Mer de Glace, France's largest glacier, where ice caves and exhibitions illustrate the region's geology and the effects of climate change. In summer, Chamonix boasts an extensive network of hiking trails, challenging climbing routes, and excellent conditions for paragliding.
