Fiordland National Park

Fiordland National Park is located in southwestern New Zealand and is one of the country's most pristine and dramatic natural areas. The park was carved by massive glaciers during the Ice Ages and is still shaped by extremely high rainfall, which feeds hundreds of waterfalls plunging down nearly vertical cliffs—especially striking after rain. The world-famous fjords Milford Sound and Doubtful Sound are the heart of the park, where dark blue waters cut deeply into the landscape, surrounded by steep cliffs and mist-cloaked mountain peaks. A fjord cruise brings you close to nature with good chances of spotting fur seals, dolphins, and often the rare Fiordland penguins.
