About Gudauri - Gudauri, Greater Caucasus, Georgia
Gudauri is located over 2,000 meters above sea level in the Greater Caucasus Mountains and is known as Georgia's leading destination for freeride skiing. The area is especially attractive to experienced skiers seeking open off-piste terrain with wide alpine bowls, natural couloirs, and minimal trees, offering optimal visibility and great freedom in line choice. Snow conditions are among the most reliable in the region from December to March, often with dry powder due to the altitude and continental climate. Gudauri is also one of the few places in Europe where heli-skiing is easily accessible, providing access to remote mountain slopes far from lift areas and crowds. Lifts start directly from the town, enabling ski-in/ski-out access without transportation. After skiing, Gudauri offers a relaxed yet modern mountain atmosphere with restaurants and lounges located directly on the slopes. Classic Georgian dishes like khinkali and cheese-filled khachapuri are often served alongside views of the dramatic, snow-covered peaks of the Caucasus. Gudauri is known for its raw nature, focus on skiing rather than mass tourism, and an authentic mountain experience where adventure and comfort go hand in hand.
