Las Leñas

Las Leñas is located in a remote and high-altitude area of the Andes Mountains in the Mendoza province and is regarded as one of South America's most extreme ski resorts. The area is particularly famous for its uncompromising big-mountain terrain, where the iconic Marte chairlift provides access to steep couloirs, technical faces, and vast treeless off-piste zones. Here, experienced skiers and snowboarders can find some of the continent's longest verticals and most challenging descents, often with light, dry powder snow thanks to its elevation between approximately 2,200 and 3,400 meters. Las Leñas is known for its raw, nearly alpine atmosphere, with a focus 100% on skiing rather than après-ski and shopping. With ski-in/ski-out hotels, limited terrain access, and opportunities for heli-skiing in the area, visitors experience a rare sense of exclusivity and wilderness.
