Livigno

Livigno is spectacularly located at over 1,800 meters in the Italian Alps near the Swiss border and is renowned as one of the Alps' most snow-reliable destinations. The long winter season often extends from November to May, thanks to its altitude and modern snow production. The ski area is divided into Carosello 3000 and Mottolino, which together offer well-groomed slopes, fast lift systems, and stunning panoramic views of Alpine peaks. Carosello 3000 is particularly celebrated for its wide, sunny runs, while Mottolino attracts adrenaline-seeking skiers and snowboarders. Livigno’s snowpark is ranked among Europe’s best and is often used for international competitions and training camps for professional freestyle athletes. The town itself offers a relaxed, cosmopolitan atmosphere with a wide selection of restaurants, cafés, and après-ski options without being overly noisy. A unique highlight is Livigno's duty-free status, which makes shopping for sportswear, electronics, perfume, and local delicacies significantly cheaper than in the rest of Italy. In summer, the focus shifts to active vacations with an extensive network of mountain biking trails, hiking paths, and access to Alpine lakes, green meadows, and the nearby Stelvio National Park.
