Pienza – Tuscany's Ideal Romantic Town

Pienza stands high above the rolling landscape of Val d’Orcia and is an exceptional example of a Renaissance ideal town. The town was transformed in the 15th century at the initiative of Pope Pius II, who aimed to create a harmonious city where architecture, light, and human proportions came together in perfect unity.
