Playa del Carmen

Playa del Carmen is centrally located in Riviera Maya and is known for its unique balance between a relaxed Caribbean beach vibe and a vibrant urban scene. Along the white sandy beaches, you'll find popular beach clubs where sun loungers, DJ sets, and freshly made cocktails create a lively atmosphere right by the turquoise Caribbean Sea, which is calm enough for both swimming and snorkeling. One of the area's most distinctive features is the many cenotes in and around Playa del Carmen – natural limestone sinkholes with crystal-clear freshwater, perfect for diving, snorkeling, and refreshing swims amidst the jungle. The town's center is anchored by the iconic Quinta Avenida, a pedestrian street filled with restaurants, bars, cafes, and world-class shopping, all within walking distance of the beach. From the ferry terminal, daily ferries sail to Cozumel, renowned for some of the world's best coral reefs and diving experiences. Playa del Carmen is also an excellent starting point for excursions to Mayan ruins like Tulum and Chichén Itzá, as well as nature and adventure parks such as Xcaret and Xel-Há.
