Sapa

Sapa is located high in the Hoàng Liên Son Mountains near the border with China and is one of northern Vietnam's most spectacular destinations. The town and surrounding valleys are famous for their dramatic rice terraces that wind up the mountainsides and change color with the seasons—from mirror-like water terraces to golden fields before harvest. The cool mountain climate often creates fog that envelops the landscape, giving the area an almost magical atmosphere.
